Cuttlefish is one of the best means of supplying your birds with calcium. This is essential for the production of viable eggs avoiding egg binding and for healthy strong bone and feather growth. The pieces of cuttlefish can either be placed in the cage and your birds can pick at the soft side of the bone at will, or, you can grate the soft side and sprinkle on top of any soft food or seed provided.
All our birds have constant access to cuttle fish and can feed on it as required. In our flights and larger cages we use the cuttlefish/milletspray holders which we also sell (under the ‘Equipment’ tab) to provide a sturdy platform for the birds to feed.
Each pack contains approximatly 200 grams of bone. The picture indicates the typical contents of a 200g pack.
